Hair Removal

Electrolysis is a safe and permanent treatment suitable for all skin and hair types. Even if your hair is thick and coarse, you have shaved and plucked for years or had unsuccessful treatment elsewhere, Rachel guarantees permanent hair removal for women. Any area of the face (including eyebrows) can be treated. Men can also be treated and realistic results will be discussed individually. Careful aftercare is essential.

Aftercare: Skin should be kept clean, dry and make-up free for 24 hours after treatment. Avoid sun exposure and heat, eg, steam, sauna or hot yoga, for 48 hours. Antiseptic cream to heal and soothe is recommended for two days after treatment.

Please note: Not suitable if you have a pacemaker or during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Thread Veins & Broken Capillaries

Electrolysis can treat thread veins and broken capillaries on the face and upper body. The ultra-fine needle cauterises blood in the damaged area to clear the blemish. A consultation is required to check suitability and to discuss realistic results. Most veins can be treated in a single session, although some may require more than one treatment. Full results can be seen after four weeks and careful aftercare is essential.

Aftercare: Fine crusts will appear over the treated area as the skin heals. It must be kept dry for 24-48 hours after treatment. Avoid sun exposure for six weeks to limit the risk of pigmentation.

Please note: Not suitable for legs and lower body, if you have a pacemaker or during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Milia Removal

Milia are small, hard, white lumps that are found around the eye area and upper part of the face. They occur when dead skin cells get trapped under the skin, forming hard cysts. They are not pimples, so should not be squeezed or picked as it can scar. Maintaining a good skin care regime can help to prevent milia, especially using sunscreen daily and a retinoid night product (we recommend the Medik8 Retinol range). Milia can be lanced and removed using a sterile electrolysis needle, preventing cross-infection and minimal disruption to the surrounding skin tissue.

Ingrowing Hair Removal

Ingrowing hairs can be painful and can be caused by shaving, epilating and waxing. Electrolysis can remove the trapped hair with minimal trauma to the skin and surrounding area. Only hairs that are visible can be treated. If the area is inflammed or cyst-like you should seek advice from your GP. Do not try to squeeze out an ingrown hair, as you can push it deeper into the skin or cause scarring.
